he story of Beton Fest

Beton Fest Sarajevo is a product of aspiration and inspiration. The motto: “Why not” and “nothing is impossible” launched a great energy which created fantastic aura for realization of the first regional 3D street art festival, at the city where all the cultures of the world meet, so the street culture as well had to.
Sarajevo – City where Rich History Meets New Era!

It is a city of a numerous historical happenings, such as “Sarajevo assassination” 1914 when World War I officially started.
The 1984 Winter Olympics, , Sarajevo was selected over Sapporo, Japan by a margin of three votes. Sarajevo was part of the united Yugoslavia at that time.
The Bosnian War that took place in between 6 April 1992 till 1995.
But despite all that, this is the country with the multitalented youth that wants and needs a change.
This youth needs your HELP and supporting Beton Fest is one of the ways to provide it for them!

How it all started?

First Beton Fest has been held in Sarajevo on summer 2012., at the 40th anniversary of the first street paint festival held in 1972 in Grazie di Curtatone, Italy.
Yet despite the obstacles, and thanks to the efforts made, in just two years we have managed to host some of the world’s greatest artists: Peter Westerink , Founder and Director at Planet Streetpainting group from Netherlands, Matthew May 3D artist from Holland, a member of Planet Street painting group, Giovanna la Pietra – la madonnara from Italy, Filip Mrvelj, Croatian 3D artist, Juandrés Vera, painter from Mexico and member of Planet Street painting, Tony Cuboliquido and Lele Cosmo madonnari and artists from Italy.

But most importantly – Beton Fest created a group of great 3D street artists who won on the COMPETITIONS of the first two festivals, that we are very proud of : Romano Kuduzovic, Kerim Musanovic, Zlatko Sljivnjak Dzejlana Karaman, Zorlak Winner of the and team ZAMVE.
First two festivals were organized with a minimum of FINANCIAL SUPPORT, but that didn’t discourage us to reinvent the effort and attempt to organize hopefully the lucky third Beton Fest.
Beton Fest 2014 will be held on 27.08.-31.08. and becasue we haven’t got the support we need we ask for you help.

Why support Beton Fest?

Because the main goal of Beton Fest is to bring together artists from all over the world who through participation in festivals share knowledge, skills and experience and helps unite street art scene, strengthen its CREATIVE potential and contribute to the renewal of multicultural cooperation, which is a catalyst for social change and encourage solutions which can contribute to the COMMUNITY and individuals.
That goal is the reason why we need your support in organizing the third Sarajevo 3D Street art festival Beton Fest 2014 and help us all to achieve it.

Imao sam dosta drugova druge nacionalnosti.Mladi su družili, zabavljali se i zaključivali mešovite brakove.
